Execution Steps

Execution steps is below with each section to save your time. you can do it in free time for few days without thinking too much. each one will require a little or few steps

1

Step 1: Update Kitchen Hardware

Kitchen Hardware Update material lists

  • New cabinet handles/knobs
  • Screwdriver

The kitchen is the heart of the home, and small changes here can make a big impact. Start by swapping out old hardware for something lighter and brighter. I found affordable options on Amazon that instantly gave my kitchen a spring-ready vibe.

Tip: Look for hardware with a matte or brushed finish for a modern touch.

Step 2: Refresh Bar Stools

Bar Stools Refresh materials list

  • Bar stools
  • Paint/wood stain
  • Cushions/seat covers

If your bar stools have seen better days, it might be time for an upgrade. I found a great deal at a discount store called Crazy Bins (similar to Overstock or bargain stores). These Target stools were originally $140 for a set, but I snagged them for just $25! A little touch-up paint and some new cushions from HomeGoods made them look brand new.

Tip: Rotate cushions to keep them looking fresh and clean.

Step 3: Add a Patterned Valance

Patterned Valance and Curtains material list

  • Sheer curtains (optional, for layering).
  • Floral or patterned valance (thrifted or new).
  • Curtain rod.
  • Curtain clips or rings.

A patterned valance can instantly bring a cottage-core vibe to your kitchen. I found mine at a thrift store for just $2 each! Pair them with a $5 curtain rod and some curtain clips, and you’ve got a light, airy look perfect for spring.

Tip: Look for floral or gingham patterns to keep it seasonal.

Step 4: Incorporate Florals

Floral Arrangements

  • Glass terrarium/vase
  • Faux/real flowers (tulips, daisies, lavender)
  • Filler greenery
  • Scissors/pruning shears

Floral arrangements are an easy way to bring spring into your home. I used a glass terrarium from Goodwill and filled it with affordable faux florals. For a more high-end look, consider using real flowers once your garden blooms.

Tip: Place smaller arrangements near the kitchen sink or island for a subtle pop of color.

Step 5: Display Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables

Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables Display

  • Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme)
  • Large bowl/tray
  • Seasonal fruits (lemons, limes, oranges)

A large bowl or tray filled with seasonal fruits and vegetables can add a fresh, spring-like feel to your kitchen. I used a thrifted tray to display lemons, limes, and other colorful produce.

Tip: Choose fruits and vegetables that your family will actually eat to avoid waste.

Step 6: Style the Kitchen Table

Dining Table Styling

  • Table runner
  • Placemats
  • Plates, bowls, glassware
  • Napkins/napkin rings
  • Wooden egg place card holders
  • Small bud vases

For the dining table, I repurposed the extra valances as table runners. Paired with thrifted placemats and dishes, the table looked fresh and inviting. I also added DIY wood egg place card holders for a festive touch.

Tip: Fold napkins in a seasonal style or use napkin rings to add a festive flair.

Step 7: Add Candles and Small Decor

Candles and Small Decor

  • Scalloped glass bowl candle (or DIY materials)
  • Ceramic bunny salt/pepper set
  • Mini decor items (e.g., potted plants, figurines)

Candles create a cozy ambiance and are perfect for spring. I found a scalloped glass bowl candle at a discount store and added a ceramic bunny salt and pepper set from Dollar Tree for a playful touch.

Tip: Use small bud vases with single stems for a low-profile floral arrangement.

Step 8: Style the Peg Rail

Peg Rail Styling

  • Peg rail/wall hooks
  • Floral tote bag
  • Gardening apron
  • Dried lavender/wreath
  • Watering can/gardening gloves

The peg rail near the entryway is a great spot to add seasonal decor. I hung dried lavender, gardening aprons, and a floral tote bag for a spring-inspired look.

Tip: Use items you already own, like watering cans or gardening tools, to keep it functional and stylish.

Final Thoughts

With these simple updates, my kitchen and dining areas feel fresh and ready for spring—all without breaking the bank. I hope these ideas inspire you to refresh your own spaces using what you already have or by sourcing affordable items.
